Hoofin' It North is now taking on a limited number of *summer* pasture boarders. We are located on 20 acres of rolling hay fields at the end of the road in a quiet, low-traffic neighborhood in Southwest Wasilla near Big Lake. This is an ideal setting for growing youngsters, lame horses, horses on vacation, retiring horses, etc.  Let them stretch their legs on our timothy/brome munchy grazing lands. Give your pocketbook a rest from the high boarding costs and limited dietary selections of constricting box stalls in stuffy barns.

Basic pasture board starts at just $100 per month per horse ($300 per horse per 3-month stay). You won't find personalized attention and turn-out like this anywhere else at this price. Experienced on-site owners will measure and distribute feed of your choosing, offer a continuous supply of clean, fresh water, apply fly spray regularly, pick out hooves, & keep an eye on things so you can have some peace of mind knowing your animal is getting a chance to know what it's like to run free with a small herd.

Possible add-ons for small, additional fees may include use of a heavy duty roundpen, short-term trailer storage space for those in good visual condition, and use of a 12' x 13' stall. Additionally, we may be available for vet & farrier handling, scheduled strategic de-worming, as well as daily injury/illness treatment for reasonably well-mannered animals. We may also be able to assist you in acquiring high-quality hay and feed.

Step off our property directly onto miles of trails and hundreds of acres of nearby public lands for your riding and viewing pleasure. Or just come out every now and then to enjoy the wildlife and birds.

We specialize in horses but can take on other livestock on a case-by-case basis. Prices & availability vary and we only have a few spaces. Questions and suggestions welcomed! We don't think you should have to worry for your animal's safety and security, so we schedule new client viewings by appointment only. Trespassers are not welcomed -- for their safety and ours!

We will only offer boarding to a few select horses so we will be choosey to ensure a good match and compatibility between your animal's needs & our set-up's offerings. Now's the perfect time to get your animal slowly acclimated to the growing grass - everything is already greening up around here! Our pictures show just how our healthy horses thrive here. Your animals can enjoy life just as much.
