Sugarcakes
This girl just came to us in an established flock of a dozen
chickens. Her prior owner
reports she is a bantam/banty adult hen but I know nothing more of her breed. She's a very small bird that is heavy for her size, at least 3-4 pounds.
I'm not sure of "Sugarcakes'" age but believe she is an adult and I'm guessing she's probably at least 2 years old???
She's a very attractive and friendly little hen that squeaks at you until you pick her up. She is even dominate over some of the larger hens in the flock but mostly spends time with the rooster or alone.
The prior owner also reports that the rooster was very fond of this
hen, breeding her often.
The owner reports she recently hatched a single chick but the chick disappeared a few days later.
Due to her recent hatching and the stress of the move from her prior location, I do not believe this hen is laying right now.
