Rocky

This boy just came to us in an established flock of a dozen chickens.  His prior owner reports he is a bantam/banty adult rooster but I know nothing more of his breed.  I was guessing Japanese Bantam??? He's a very small bird that is heavy for his size, at least 3-4 pounds. I'm not sure of "Rocky's" age but believe he is an adult and I'm guessing he's probably at least 2 years old???

He's a very attractive little rooster and he is both kind to his hens and protective of them, especially when someone or something is frightening the hens or when they are on the nest in the laying boxes. He is not overly aggressive but has tried to peck and spur us but most of it is show and he often approaches us from behind! He has not hurt anyone, just startled us. 1 that squeaks at you until you pick her up. She is even dominate over some of the larger hens in the flock but mostly spends time with the rooster or alone.  The prior owner also reports that he was very fond of the smallest bantam/banty hen, Sugarcakes, breeding her often. After five days here we have only seen him mount one hen, Henny Penny, for one breeding.
