Queen Bee

This girl just came to us in an established flock of a dozen chickens.  Her prior owner reports she is a Barred Rock adult hen.  She's a fairly large bird, weighing at least 5-6 pounds. I'm not sure of "Queen Bee's" age but believe she is an adult and I'm guessing she's probably at least 2 years old???

This bird is difficult to distinguish from the other Barred Rock hen, Jailhouse Rock, except by a slightly different personality with regard to roosting and grooming. This bird prefers to roost on the very top roost and she spends quite a lot of time and energy grooming herself. She is in fairly good condition but may be molting as I have seen a few of her discarded feathers in the coop.

She tolerates some gentle human contact when setting somewhere easily reached,
but she is fairly nervous. She will not stand easily to be caught but she is
still fairly easy to catch when in a confined area.

I am uncertain as to whether or not this hen is laying. Either Queen Bee or the other Barred Rock hen, Jailhouse Rock, was brooding in a laying box at her prior home the day I arrived to relocate them. The prior owner reported that the one brooding may peck when removed from the nest but when the prior owner donned gloves and lifted her out of the box, she did not protest and I do not recall there being any eggs in the nest.
